Our Fruit and Vegetable Garden

My husband informed me this morning that my vegetable garden isn’t a vegetable garden. My fruit trees (apple and cherry) are fruits, the herbs (basil, oregano, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, lavender, dill) are flowering plants, the root vegetables (carrots, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, turnips, radishes, beets) are only roots, the grapes and blueberries are vines, strawberries and melons are fruit,and my other vegetables (beans, tomatoes, eggplant, squash, zucchini, peppers, etc.) all come from flowers and have seeds inside and so are also fruit. Only my cabbage and cauliflower and broccoli and asparagus count. I didn’t fight with him about it. I just got real quiet and thought about how hungry he is going to be all summer while I live off my fruit garden.
